BUFF® MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL COMES TO A CLOSE WITH MORE THAN 15,000 VISITORS

Mountain sport enthusiasts were able to enjoy a weekend full of activities, which did not disappoint all those who had made their way to the Vall de Boí.

An extraordinary setting which, for the second year, was home to an event devoted to lovers of the mountains, and all their different inclinations.

And as expected, the final day left no one indifferent, much like the rest of the weekend, with a special mention going to the Mini Skyrace, in which the little ones had a blast in a magical place for practising sports.

THE PINNACLE OF THE COMPETITIONS

At 8 a.m. the more than 600 participants in the 42-kilometre discipline, part of the Skyrunner® World Series, set off. Marc Pinsach, Finlay Wild and Miguel Caballero completed the men’s podium, whilst in the women’s category, the top three spots went to Holly Page, Oihana Azkorbebetia and María Mercedes Pila.

An hour later it was the turn of the Mountain Bike race, the final competition of the Scott Marathon Cup circuit – the toughest yet most spectacular event thanks to its location high up in the mountains in the Vall de Boí. Francesc Guerra dominated the race from start to finish winning with complete command a route that took in 2,200 metres of elevation gain in just 56 kilometres. Helena Isanta was the fastest women.

At 9.30 a.m. the 11-kilometre discipline began, which Quim Costa and Stevie Kremer dominated with ease.

The final competition of the festival was the Catalan Bouldering Championships (Youngsters), in which the next big things vied for the most important title of the season for the discipline.

Mountains, sport and family defined a weekend to remember, which will be back with a bang in its following edition.
