BUFF® EPIC TRAIL OPENS REGISTRATION FOR ITS 2021 EDITION ON NOVEMBER 24th
BUFF® Epic Trail opens this Tuesday, November 24, registration for the 2021 edition. After the different postponements and the final cancellation of this year’s edition due to the Covid-19, the organization is already working for a great return to the mountains next July.
The races will be held as part of the BUFF® Mountain Festival, which will take place one more year in the Vall de Boí, with its epicenter in the town of Barruera, between 8 and 11 July.
World Championships and 5 distances
BUFF® Epic Trail will have 5 distances, races of different levels of demand that will make skyrunning lovers enjoy to the fullest, while touring the forests, villages and summits of the Vall de Boí and the surroundings of the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici.
Specifically, 68 KM and 5,000 M+ are proposed in the Ultra distance –Memorial Juan Rojas–, 42 KM and 2,900 M+ in the Marathon, 26 KM and 1,800 M+, 12 KM and 480 M+ and, exceptionally, the explosive Vertical KM with its 1,000 M+.
The event, in addition, will be next year the scene of the World Championships of the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) in 3 distances –Ultra, Marathon and Vertical KM– and, therefore, will become the great meeting point for the best runners of this sport.
Limited registrations
Since many runners registered in 2020 have already transferred their registration to next year and given the possibility that the next one is not yet a normal edition and the number of registrations ends up being more limited than usual, it is recommended that those interested make it in advance to secure a place. During the first ten days the registration will have a reduced price and, in addition, alternatives for cancelling it are proposed for causes derived from the pandemic.
The organization, in coordination with local authorities, health authorities and federations, is currently working and will continue to do so in the coming months to be able to develop BUFF® Epic Trail 2021 with the utmost normalcy and with all safety and prevention measures. The measures that are being adopted will respond to the specific context that exists at that time and, therefore, would be announced next spring.
Registrations can be made through the website TicketOCI.
